Know Your Patterns!

Knowing What Flatters Your Body!

Now of course we can wear whatever we want! But we always want to look great in what we wear! We want out clothes to give us the most flattering affect! So here are a few tips to help out!

Not so tall? Try wearing clothes with vertical stripes! This will help lengthen your silhouette! If you don't want to wear stripes try patterns that are smaller so they don't overpower your Frame.
Tall and slender?  You have a few more options! Play with bolder prints, uninteresting prints will make you look lanky. The bold prints draw the attention to your torso.
Pear shaped/ Bottom heavy? Its more like making an illusion. You want to wear a patterned top and solid bottom to draw the attention upward. Works best with a busy, not cluttered pattern!
Reverse pair/ Top heavy? Obviously were just going to reverse the Pear shaped advice. Try a patterned skirt or printed pant with an neutral top to get a flattering balance.
Full figured?  Its more of an by case situation when it comes to patterns. The easiest are diagonal stripes and floral patterns. I know your thinking who want to wear a flower moo moo? Well that's not what I am suggesting. Floral is in style now so you can find so many stylish floral patterns!

Well that's all for now, but comment and let me know if these tips helped!

Is Black Really Slimming?

www.Maine-street.com

The Question We All Want To Know The Answer To.

Black actually is very slimming obviously not physically but visually. It gives the illusion that you are a few pounds lighter. How can that be possible? Well black along with many other dark colors do not reflect lights. That is usually the reason we appear bigger in lighter colors because of the shadows they cast. That is what makes your silhouette look its smallest.
Be cautious! Not everything that is dark or black will make you look slim. If it is sequenced it will reflect light! Spandex is also another black material to stray away from. Also try to target your problem areas with the black and contrast it by wearing lighter colors in your Flattering areas. This is going to put the attention on your highlighted areas.
Before I go, Don't over due the black color scheme! As i said it works with a variety of dark colors such as  darker blues such as navy, darker greens like an emerald, and also darker reds like burgundy's.

Dress to Express!!

When In Doubt, Go With What Makes You Comfortable!

As Humans we have a tendency to strive to fit in, to all be alike. We have that fear that if we are unique or different we will not be accepted. I am a strong believer that if they should be around they will be regardless of who you are or what you wear! Embrace people who encourage you to be yourself! Be happy that you can relax and let your true self free. Spread that acceptance by being less judgmental!  Support others who stand out with their unique style! Also learn to have faith in yourself and show off your uniqueness.

Fashion changes everyday! Its what we call a trend. Whose to say that the worldly trend has to be your trend? You never know whats to come and why care! Make your own trends, Standing out can present you many great opportunities! You only have once chance at life why not style it how you want? why not live it with no regrets? You can not go back, so enjoy it! And remember, When in doubt go with what makes you comfortable!
